Description

Our client is currently seeking a Water Resources Designer to join their team. The position will involve providing support to their land development engineering practice, which offers a diverse range of services. The projects will mainly focus on civil site design and land development for various types of sites, such as residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal.

Other expected competencies:

• Undertake work for water resources / stormwater management-related project design and technical studies.
• Writing reports and design briefs and pursuing approvals from agencies, Liaising with clients, conservation authorities, and federal, provincial, regional and municipal agencies to review their needs or address comments concerning servicing and stormwater management aspects of development projects during draft plan and detailed design stages
• Be able to manage the earthworks requirements/calculations.
• Team player
• Good communication skills.
• Legal status to work in Canada is required

Duties & Responsibilities

• Undertake work for water resources / stormwater management-related project design and technical studies.
• Develop and apply hydrological and hydraulic models
• Perform hydrology assessments and associated reporting
• Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed engineering for water resources projects
• Preparation of technical memos, reports, construction plans and specifications

Skills & Experience

• A University Degree or College Diploma in Civil Engineering is preferred.
• Experience with a variety of water resources projects within the land development industry
• Knowledge of provincial and municipal environmental regulations and guidelines.
• Experience with standard analysis programs, AutoCAD, PCSWMM, Visual Otthymo, Microsoft office programs, and other associated programs is desired
• Strong analytical skills with knowledge in hydrologic and hydraulic computer modeling platforms, and Excel.
