    Electrical Project Manager – Building Services

    Duties & Responsibilities

    As a Electrical Project Manager you will work in the development of system engineering concepts and reports during schematic design and design development phases of the project and be responsible for leading a design team through the day to day activities required for implementing conceptual design into contract documents. You will be responsible for the contract administration phase of the project which includes interface with contractors and architectural teams, review of shop drawings, site review, review of RFI’s.

    Skills & Experience

    • Manage and oversee Electrical engineering projects of various sizes and complexity
    • Analyze customer design proposals and specifications to determine cost effective solutions
    • Lead a project team to ensure technical accuracy of project deliverables
    • Manage a team to ensure cost effective, safe and timely completion of projects to meet or exceed client expectations
    • Manage project activities throughout lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, documentation and other factors necessary for success
    • Prepare and review specification and concept reports
    • Provide mentoring to technical staff, assigning duties as required
    • Provide quality and cost control during the design and construction process
    • Maintain project schedules and project cost summaries to track work progress, budget status, and manpower resource utilization.
    • Escalate and identify the need for additional services and fees.
    • Assist with Shop drawing reviews as required.
    • Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline such as Building Systems
    • 5 – 10+ years of industry related experience
    • Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.). A senior C.E.T. with equivalent experience and abilities will also be considered.
    • Consulting engineering background is preferred
    • Knowledgeable about the provincial building code, electrical code, CSA, ULC, IEEE, IES and NFPA standards.
    • Strong understanding of engineering contractors, suppliers and manufacturers
    • Mechanical and Electrical coordination experience
    • Construction experience will be considered an asset
    • Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods
